Jacobus Petrus ROUX was born on a farm in the Rustenburg district on 26th December, 1961; he studied 1983-1985 at the Pretoria Technikon Graphic Fine Arts; 1986-1988 National Higher Diploma, Witwatersrand Technikon
Early 1990s Pieter Roux moved from Johannesburg to the Cape.

1998-1999 at Frans Masereel Centrum studio’s, Kasterlee/Antwerp in cooperation
with Studio-Artist-Printmaker Ltd., Artist Proof Studio, Johannesburg and Hard
Ground Studio, Cape Town.
From the portfolio created by 55 Flemish and South African artists a real pack
of cards was edited. The results were shown at the Museum of Playing Cards in
Turnhout, in Johannesburg and Stellenbosch.
