Born in December, 1950, Western Native Township, Johannesburg - studied 1963 to 1966 at Jubilee Social Art Centre, Eloff Street, Johannesburg, under Ezrom Legae and Bill Hart.
1969 concentrated on terracotta sculptures at the Academy of Arts run by Peter Haden in Craighall, Johannesburg
1975 further studies in fine arts at the Museum School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston MA USA
1976/1979 art instructor at Mofolo Art Centre, Soweto (one of his well-known students was Lucas Seage)
